A few days ago I had a chance to watch this beautiful piece of animated short called "The Stain" by Sittisak Jiamphotjamarn, a young artist from Thailand. I was so impressed by it so I contacted him to get to know more about him as well as to get the permission to feature his short here on Genozyte: Blog.

"THE STAIN"

F.Y.I.

Sittisak is a young artist currently studying in the fourth year in the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University, Thailand. His short film "The Stain" (or "Stain") had entered as one of the finalists in THE 2006 GLOBAL STUDENT ANIMATION AWARDS by Stash Magazine , and recieved 2 awards back home (2006 Prayut Ngaokrajang award by Thai Film Foundation, Young Thai Artist Award 2006 by Siam Cement Foundation) and had been showing at The 6th Asian Film Symposium (2006).

MY IMPRESSION

Beneath its beautiful and artistic visual elements, "The Stain" comes with interesting background idea, sound elements and music compositions, showing that the director concerns more about making a piece which is "Good" rather than just "Right". I really love the context within this piece and I believe that it was something Sittisak has in his mind too. As artists, or I'd say as human beings, the message of  "The Stain" might be just a tiny voice vibrating within the wave of noises, but it's still worth taking our time to listen carefully and may be think about it at least for a moment.

If you like "The Stain", you may as well want to visit http://www.woomp.com/jiam/ for more interesting artworks by Sittisak Jiamphotjamarn.

Not just the visual, the sound and the movement which is so perfect, the message that he try to present is so inspiring. The concept of ink drop and creation is very simple and very nice. I've been visit his site and found that I love all his work!... This is so great, thanks a million.

I'm curious a bit... is he did all his whole works all by himself? If so, he's so amazing.
